    HURRAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!

Monday, June 16, 2008, 03:25 PM PST [*Confessions of a board mind*]

*running in circles* IT'S HERE!!! IT'S HERE!!! IT'S HERE!!! YAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!

*clears throat, straightens hair* my bike basket is FINALLY here! yay! and only one day late! i went to the grocery store yesterday! lol!! i went on such a loooonnnng ride. wow. i thought i was going to die! i went up one of my most favorite streets. i learned something about it that i had never realized while driving it... it has a slight incline! lol! i was panting near the end there. i got to my local trader joe's and went straight for the water! i bought some cold stuff, so that was pretty nice to have on my back. the back pack helped a lot! i may still bring one for big grocery trips. but i have to tell you, the ride home was pretty sweet! having frozen food on my back and a slight decline. very sweet! so here's the new basket on the bike. oh, and to follow the pixie tradition, i named her. i may not be able to totally keep her {sis may see all the fun i'm having and be an indian giver! where did that saying come from anyway?! i've never known an indian to take anything back that was given!.. anyway, sorry.} so tell me pix if this is the name of your bike. my brain tends to forget things sometimes. lol! i named her gretchen. :)

and it has the convenient feature of easy removal for shopping! and here's the cute for lack of a better word... fanny pack that i bought before i even decided to get a bike! it has come in handy! it has a nice lil spot for an ipod and plenty of space for money!!!

i just got a supper cute e-mail! this is for all you puppie and kitty lovers!

If I Didn't Have a Dog... OR CAT

I could walk around the yard barefoot in safety.

My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated.

All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.

When the doorbell rings, it wouldn't sound like a kennel.

When the doorbell rings, I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there.

I could sit on the couch and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several fur bodies would need to get comfortable.

I would have money .....and no guilt to go on a real vacation.

I would not be on a first-name basis with 6 veterinarians, as I put their yet unborn grand kids through college.

The most used words in my vocabulary would not be: out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it ALONE.

My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.

My house would not look like a day care center, toys everywhere.

My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, treats and an extra leash.

I would no longer have to spell the words B-A-L-L,, F-R-I-S-B-E- E,,

    W-A-L-K,, T-R-E-A-T,, B-I-K-E,, G-O,, R-I-D-E

I would not have as many leaves INSIDE my house as outside.

I would not look strangely at people who think having ONE dog/cat ties them down too much.

I'd look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading 'mud' season.

I would not have to answer the question 'Why do you have so many animals?' from people who will never have the joy in their lives of knowing they are loved unconditionally by someone as close to an angel as they will ever get.

How EMPTY my life would be!

goddess i love my animals!!! :D hope you all have a wonderful rest-of-the day!!!! (((((hugs))))~ alysia

Wooo! Gretchen, yer a thinga beauty! I think it's funny that our bikes have girl names. I have Slowly-butt Shirley, Emily has Bernice, and you have Gretchen! (That's a family name, by the way.)

Isn't it interesting the things you notice on your bike that you don't when you're in your car? Take a ride and focus on smells; you'll be shocked! :)

If your sister tries to take Gretchen back, tell her, "no take-backs"!
