    Are we ever truly solitary?

I alone gather my tools. I alone light the candles. I alone call the quarters. I alone write my spells. I alone call to the Lord and Lady... but am I alone?
Tis a night like any other magical one. I sit as a solitary witch in front of my alter, ready to start. I look up from were I sit and can see the silent beauty of yet another full moon. Clouds dance around her, not daring to block her from me. Just as I begin to feel her embrace, I feel a paw scratching at my arm. Slightly frustrated at the break in concentration, I quickly look down at who is asking to join in. It is my witchy familiar my sweet little Chihuahua Libby. As soon as I look into her brown and blue eyes all of my frustration melts away. She hops up on my lap and curls up. Ready to continue I bring my thoughts upwards... just as I do this yet another paw is scratching to say hi! Looking down I see my other Chihuahua Vito calmly asking to join in on the fun. So I allow him to curl up at my side. The night continues this way until I have all 5 of my dogs either touching me or as close as they can get to me. As my cat lazily lifts her head up and winks at me from my dinner table. Now feeling like the energy has calmed, I continue my full moon celebration.
I close my eyes and see my self at the beach on a moonlit night. All of my animals are there with me! The mood is calm and serene. We gather by a fire and just sit and enjoy the warmth. Then She appears, almost coming from the ocean itself, I see Her. She smiles warmly as She greets all of my animals. She then comes to me and gives me a hug. It feels like a warm blanket on a cold winter night. I feel all of my stress melt away. As this happens, I feel Libby relax. I continue my ritual by doing a quick spell. I notice that my spirit guide appears as well as some of my loved ones who have passed on to the Shadow Land. After I speak to all of them and after they have given me the advice they came to give , I slowly come back to my home.
I then stand up and walk to my window. As I stare at the moon, I begin to say a short poem. Just as I do this my dalmatian Obie starts to bark! When I pull my eyes from the moon I see that he is barking at me! So I put my hand on his head and began saying we instead of I for all of my thank you's and blessed be's. Together we see the Lord, Lady, the quarters, my spirit guide, and my loved ones off! He quietly sits next to me and patiently waits for me to finish. Once it is done I had a realization... I may be a solitary witch, but I am never alone! Weather it be my beloved animals, my cherished ancestors, my very important deities, or any other worldly beings!! And for this I truly feel blessed!! So, are we ever truly solitary?
